Nothing better than seeing a really great review of a Kinetic trainer on YouTube. Check out this thorough, neutral-party video review of the Kinetic Road Machine.
We all think we’ve got it, right? Power. Enough legs to catch the break or not get dropped on the climb. (If you’ve been loving your trainer all winter in the corner of the living room, that shouldn’t happen to you…). But no – really what we’re talking about is real power. The kind to blow your clips and your cranks. Or to light up the grid. Well not quite, but close.
We’ve been tinkering around with a regular Road Machine trainer and all kinds of energy storage devices for the past few months in the test center and think we’ve got at least the prototype of something new – and powerful. Working title? The 911 – our first trainer built to store energy. Right now, we’re thinking it could get some serious use as soon as this summer. Next time a storm blows out your box, hook up your bike, the 911 trainer, plug it in and start pedaling. You can generate and store enough juice to get the radio going, make some calls or keep the beer fridge alive until help arrives.
The 911 picked up some buzz at the Living Green Expo in St Paul last month. Check back hear for sneak peak pics and where to get one soon. Until then keep the candles nearby.
