Kinetic kids kick off mountain bike season!

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Don’t you wish they had mountain biking as a high school sport when you were a kid?

The lucky kids of San Ramon Valley High School Mountain Bike Team have a great racing league out in California and they ride Kinetic trainers in the winter when the rainy season hits full force. The high school league racing season started last week with over 580 racers in the Division 1 League. San Ramon has the 2nd largest team with over 40 racers! The team placed 6th in the Division 1 race. We’ll be keeping an eye on them this year. Good luck everyone!

Kinetic Trainer enthusiasm is contagious!

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Even our suppliers are trying to promote the Kinetic trainer line. Brenda is an employee of King Solutions, our shipping company, and this is what we were greeted with when we walked into their conference room for our annual business meeting. The trainer and bike belong to Patty Cowan. She got this for Christmas this year from her hubby.

Human Power: it’s still a good idea

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

We all think we’ve got it, right?  Power. Enough legs to catch the break or not get dropped on the climb. (If you’ve been loving your trainer all winter in the corner of the living room, that shouldn’t happen to you…). But no – really what we’re talking about is real power. The kind to blow your clips and your cranks. Or to light up the grid. Well not quite, but close.

We’ve been tinkering around with a regular Road Machine trainer and all kinds of energy storage devices for the past few months in the test center and think we’ve got at least the prototype of something new – and powerful. Working title? The 911 – our first trainer built to store energy. Right now, we’re thinking it could get some serious use as soon as this summer. Next time a storm blows out your box, hook up your bike, the 911 trainer, plug it in and start pedaling. You can generate and store enough juice to get the radio going, make some calls or keep the beer fridge alive until help arrives.

The 911 picked up some buzz at the Living Green Expo in St Paul last month. Check back hear for sneak peak pics and where to get one soon. Until then keep the candles nearby.
